Biohazard Signs

Biohazard signs are used to signify the actual or potential presence of a biohazard and to identify equipment, containers, rooms, materials, experimental animals, or combinations thereof, which contain, or are contaminated with, viable hazardous agents, per OSHA 1910.145(e)(4) standards. While working with or around specific biohazards, follow precautions on Biohazard Signs to stay healthy and safe. The Biohazard Warning Sign is displayed at the entrance to work areas where biohazards are handled, informing workers and visitors of the agents present and specifying entry and exit procedures.

In today's world, the spread of diseases happen very quickly. Substances that are dangerous to humans and the environment, such as biological or chemical substances are considered to be biohazards and can be unknowingly dangerous. Biohazards can be found in anything from human blood and other body fluids, sharps, animal waste, chemotherapy waste, and genetically altered organisms. Biohazard Signs should not be ignored, as contents could be potentially dangerous.
